About

Nap of the Earth Films is a London-based production company dedicated to narrative excellence and the exploration of multicultural perspectives. We champion stories that inhabit the “in-between” spaces of the human experience—focusing on themes of identity, resilience, and the social hierarchies of urban life.

Our approach is built on the belief that a film’s emotional impact is inseparable from its visual integrity. By grounding ambitious creative visions in a disciplined, hands-on production process, we ensure that every project—from independent shorts to long-form features—is realised with professional precision and a deep respect for the craft. We are committed to a collaborative environment where technical expertise serves the story, ensuring that the final work is as honest as it is visually resonant.

Ariel Artur | Founder & Producer
Ariel Artur is a Latin American producer and cinematographer based in London since 2014. With over 15 years on set and credits on more than 100 productions across features, shorts, and documentaries, Ariel brings a practical, exhaustive understanding of the filmmaking process to his role as a producer.

His transition into lead production is a natural progression of his work as a visual storyteller. Ariel’s background as a cinematographer allows him to act as a technical partner to directors, bridging the gap between creative concepts and the logistical realities of the set. He is focused on building sustainable partnerships that champion underrepresented voices, ensuring that every production is safe, professional, and uncompromising in its quality.

Ariel is a frequent collaborator with award-winning directors and served as the cinematographer on the Netflix Talent Fund documentary Beyond the Divide. He is an advocate for industry best practices and holds multiple ScreenSkills certifications in Production Safety (BECTU), Inclusive Hiring, and Safeguarding. Through Nap of the Earth Films, he is currently developing a slate of work that explores the intersections of culture and identity through a sharp, intentional lens.
